Alana McGinnis

Asset Recovery Specialist | Project Coordinator

Alana McGinnis is an Asset Recovery Specialist and Project Coordinator at National Franchise Sales, where she works on complex franchise restaurant situations involving bankruptcy, receivership, lender workouts, partnership disputes, and distressed asset recoveries.

Since joining the firm in 2012, Alana has focused on helping coordinate the many moving parts involved when restaurant businesses encounter financial distress or ownership transitions. She works closely with attorneys, lenders, franchisors, receivers, and restructuring professionals to organize information, coordinate due diligence, and support processes that help stabilize situations and facilitate orderly asset transitions.

Her work often involves reviewing financial information, monitoring court filings and case developments, coordinating transaction materials, and assisting with marketing and auction processes for distressed restaurant assets. Alana also conducts lender outreach and financing research to help identify potential funding solutions for qualified buyers when businesses are transitioning to new ownership.

Alana has a particular interest in the turnaround and restructuring side of the restaurant industry, including exploring tools such as UCC Article 9 sales and other asset recovery strategies that may help preserve value when businesses face financial challenges.

Known for her thoughtful and people-first approach, Alana takes pride in helping guide stakeholders through complicated and often stressful situations. Her focus is not simply on transactions, but on helping clients, lenders, and advisors work toward practical solutions during times of transition.

She is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), and the California Receivers Forum (CRF).

Prior to joining National Franchise Sales, Alana worked in the mortgage and merchant services industries, gaining experience in loan processing, underwriting, and sales management. This background provides her with a strong foundation in financial analysis and transaction coordination.
